Trouble of Thinking of a New Year’s Resolution? Make One for Your Braces

Posted .

If you’re having a hard time coming up with a New Year’s resolution, you should think of your smile. You could make a resolution for your braces! If you do this, there is a good chance you could have a more effective orthodontic treatment and you could even get your braces off quicker. Who knows! Let’s give it a shot. Our orthodontistss, Drs. Liang and Liang, encourage you to make one or more of the following resolutions:

-Regularly attend your orthodontic adjustment appointments

-Don’t break your appliance (This means you need to stay away from hard-to-eat and sticky foods that break the brackets and bend the wires)

-Protect your mouth with a mouthguard when you participate in high-contact sports and activities

-Brush after every meal and snack

-Floss frequently. If you can floss after each time you brush, do it

-Attend your dental checkups every six months

-Follow your orthodontist’s instructions

-Clean your smile before every orthodontic adjustment and dental cleaning appointment
